Baby boy Benson growing up

My dear friends Abby and Kalib Benson spent sweet time with me as we captured their son growing up. Not too long ago we had their Expecting session, and here lil' Theo is rocking everyone's world with his great big brown eyes and precious giggle and personality. We picked the perfect day too because Georgia's weather turned blistering cold the following day and his little piggies wouldn't take it for sure! Here are several of my favorites from our afternoon together this weekend. Thanks to both of you for allowing me to be your photographer, and friend. Love ya'll!

Ok, so the next few shots are a similar pose, but I've got to share the fun stories behind them so bare with me ...

I just love this one of Theo lifting his mom's chin toward him. You can tell he simply adores her.
So, here's the story behind the scenes. As they were sneaking a kiss I was trying to get Theo's attention with a squeaky giraffe in my left hand while I grabbed this shot with my camera in my right hand. Though multi-talented, Theo wasn't interested in me - the wicker texture was much more intriguing, so .....
Daddy stepped up to the plate and held out his watch to get Theo to look in my direction. After shooting this I realized though there's a story behind the scenes here, what it looks like is Daddy telling his son to hang on the kiss will last just a little longer. This boy cracks me up! The watch won over the wicker!

Mama and Son sweet moments

Sometimes we get lucky to have wonderful people to work with who become friends, and Dana is one of them. This week I got to kick around the fall leaves with Dana and her son Charles as we played together in a tree house and hammed it up as we explored. Children are fun to photograph, and Charles made it all the more fun with the many poses he came up with himself. Many of the shots captured the two of them were laughing together as Charles nuzzled his head into her arms – we had lots of fun and here is a sneak peak at our early evening together.

Sweet joy of little ones

I had so much fun this past Saturday strolling through Stone Mountain park with friends of ours – and I get to watch these two little precious girls grow before my lens and human eye. Here are some from our morning session together. Thanks Julie and Tim for asking me to be your lifetime photographer :)

Full measure of joy

When shooting weddings you get a good sense of people's personalities and about family and friends relationships without even knowing them apart from that day. You get to work with all kinds of personalities, dive into their lives for the moment, so that everyone feels comfortable with your lens in their face or so that they act natural as you secretly shoot from a hidden area so as not to encroach on a great conversation or moment.

Even if I hadn't already known the bride of this weekend's wedding, I would have been able to see her love for her soon-to-be husband a mile away, and the groom's eyes and smile were always catching her when she wasn't looking. They both have met at the church where they married and there ceremony was sweet and meaningful. There was a full measure of love and joy shared by family and friends that shared in their day.

Thank you for asking me to be your photographer Juli.
Your a joy to work with – both at work and in life outside of work :)

... through the church door's peek hole I caught them expressing their happiness
