Spring day session with the Bensons

Today we had our first real spring day for Georgia since last week's few snow flakes and tomorrows rain comes and it was just perfect to venture out in the local area with Theo and his two amazing parents and capture the newness of his one year old discoveries together. What a cutie he is – every expression says so much without saying a word and I enjoyed being with good friends again. Here's a few from the shoot with the Benson family. Love y'all!

A December promise

Usually I get a chance to meet a Bride and Groom-to-be before their big day, but these two are very focused on school and with the Christmas season approaching, not to mention their wedding, there was a lot on their plate. These two warmed up to the camera and myself real quick though and we had a lot of fun capturing their fun memories they worked hard to put together. This was a local event in a smaller, older church that cast it's stained glass light on the ceremony. The day's cold wind didn't stop them from cutting loose after the ceremony with their long-time friends. Here are some of the day they'll always look back on as the day their story began.

Baby boy Benson growing up

My dear friends Abby and Kalib Benson spent sweet time with me as we captured their son growing up. Not too long ago we had their Expecting session, and here lil' Theo is rocking everyone's world with his great big brown eyes and precious giggle and personality. We picked the perfect day too because Georgia's weather turned blistering cold the following day and his little piggies wouldn't take it for sure! Here are several of my favorites from our afternoon together this weekend. Thanks to both of you for allowing me to be your photographer, and friend. Love ya'll!

Ok, so the next few shots are a similar pose, but I've got to share the fun stories behind them so bare with me ...

I just love this one of Theo lifting his mom's chin toward him. You can tell he simply adores her.
So, here's the story behind the scenes. As they were sneaking a kiss I was trying to get Theo's attention with a squeaky giraffe in my left hand while I grabbed this shot with my camera in my right hand. Though multi-talented, Theo wasn't interested in me - the wicker texture was much more intriguing, so .....
Daddy stepped up to the plate and held out his watch to get Theo to look in my direction. After shooting this I realized though there's a story behind the scenes here, what it looks like is Daddy telling his son to hang on the kiss will last just a little longer. This boy cracks me up! The watch won over the wicker!

Mama and Son sweet moments

Sometimes we get lucky to have wonderful people to work with who become friends, and Dana is one of them. This week I got to kick around the fall leaves with Dana and her son Charles as we played together in a tree house and hammed it up as we explored. Children are fun to photograph, and Charles made it all the more fun with the many poses he came up with himself. Many of the shots captured the two of them were laughing together as Charles nuzzled his head into her arms – we had lots of fun and here is a sneak peak at our early evening together.
